Therapeutic Approach:
We primarily work from a depth psychology (psychodynamic) perspective through a social justice lens. We believe it is important to name the systems in which all experiences are framed. What has society told us about ourselves? It is these very systems that we need to heal from. The denial of justice, equal rights, access, and opportunities can negatively impact our emotional, mental, and physical well-being. We want to acknowledge the experiences and unique mental health needs of those who have experienced historical, intergenerational, cultural, and racial trauma. We have a commitment to centering diversity, inclusion, and equity in mental health care and are passionate about contributing to the collective healing and connection for all people.
In counseling, we take a collaborative approach, challenging clients to examine the self to develop insight and make meaningful change. We will practice and build the skills to address the experiences of mind, body, soul, and their relationship to community. Additionally, we use holistic and integrative therapy approaches that explore the mind-body connection, including restorative practices, relational and emotional experiencing, mindfulness, rest in stillness and in movement, nature, music, art, and somatic modalities. Healing is facilitated through allowing emotions to move through the body, accessing your internal resources and building on capacity. Our work together will empower you to tend to your well-being and show up as your full authentic self.
What is Depth Psychology?
Depth psychology is a holistic therapeutic approach that explores the subtle, unconscious, and deeper aspects of the human experience that influence our thoughts and behaviors. A mindfulness and reflective practice encourages understanding deeply rooted emotions, attitudes, and beliefs about the self and world, leading to increased self-awareness. Healing is possible when we acknowledge our truths and allow what has been repressed or denied to come into consciousness.
